Our Services

We aim to provide a friendly, professional and cost effective service in even the most complex of situations, which may include:

Divorce and Finances

The financial consequences of divorce or separation involving for example pensions, companies, businesses, trusts and tax.

Children

Most children cases (although not work involving the local authority known as Public Children Law).

Pre-nuptial

Pre-nuptial agreements before getting married which are becoming more popular following some recent high profile cases.

Co-habitation disputes and agreements

Co-habitation agreements at the start of or during a relationship are becoming more important as more people are choosing to live together than ever before and as peoples' financial situations are becoming more complex.

Inheritance Act claims

Where a person dies without making appropriate provision for certain of their dependants it may be possible to make a claim against the deceased's Estate under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975.  The financial provision that may be provided will depend on various factors such as the nature of the relationship between the deceased and the claimant.

Unmarried partners and their children may also be able to bring such claims.

Inheritance Act claims are often complicated by the fact that other beneficiaries may be affected by a claim and careful negotiation is necessary if complex litigation is to be avoided.  Where litigation is unavoidable, we have substantial experience in such claims.

We can advise and assist potential claimants or the beneficiaries whose inheritances would be affected by any claim.
